Nikon D70 was Nikon’s first consumer-level digital SLR with a 6.1-megapixel DX sensor. Nikon D70 was replaced by Nikon D70s in 2005. I did take approximately 4000 photos with my D70 before upgrading to Nikon D200 in 2006.

Nikon D70 raw files dimension is 3008 x 2000 pixels, approximately 5.8 megapixel on disk. Very small compared to current DSLR and mirrorless cameras. But combined with a high-quality lens and modern photo editor software it is still possible to see details and vibrant colors in these old images.

Photos in this post are captured with a Nikon 300mm /4D AF-S during a tour at Cumbarjua Canal, Goa, India in 2006 and Etosha, Namibia 2004. Edited in 2006 with Adobe Photoshop CS2 and in 2021 with Adobe Lightroom Classic 10.3 and Adobe Camera Raw.
